Got my new dial scale from Rock-Sea dials, applied it and managed to paint-stain the front of the glass well enough to blend in with other drawer front.

Not that I've ever heard of this model before, or have the slightest interest in acquiring such a project. I'm guessing that the dial scale and the surround were done first, with opaque aluminum paint, then the woodgrain was printed over it. Second, the reproduction of the dial glass would be an impossible process now.

I'vr thought about the printed grain dial glass on those sets, and I think I know what they did, though you or I could never duplicate it. It's in nice shape except--you guessed it--the fake wood grain is peeling off the glass front.

(a) is there any easy cure?
(b) do I want this thing at all?
(c) does anyone else want it, gratis?

I don't want to spend any time packing this for shipping.

, That's pretty common on those. It will be possible to remove the stain/paint from the front of the glass and repeat as many times as it takes to get it right. My suggestion would be to walk out on the nearest pier or boat launch site and verify the law of gravity.
